Why "Lone Eagle?"
Lone Eagle Digital Imaging, LLC was named in honor of Charles Lindbergh - The Lone Eagle. In 1927, he was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in his tiny, single-engine plane. This made him wildly popular in his day. He had an incredible life including his barn-storming antics as a young man, to becoming a straight A student in the military academy, to his design & piloting of The Spirit of St. Louis into history. To me, he embodies the idea of persuing a dream full-blast.
He had an engineer's mind for mechanical things & excellent attention to detail. He even trimmed the margins off of his maps to save weight on his famous flight. In his later life, he opened many airports all over the world, thus making our planet a little smaller. He also designed one of the first mechanical hearts and was named Time Magazine's first Man of the Year.
Biography
Rick founded Lone Eagle Digital Imaging, LLC in April 2003. Prior to that, he worked for Hewlett-Packard in San Diego for nine years as an R&D Chemical Engineer developing inkjet inks for HP's home, office, & industrial inkjet printers.
He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from The University of Buffalo, an MBA in Marketing from St. Bonaventure University, & an MS in Material Science from Rutgers University. During his nine years at HP, Rick earned five patents in the fields of inkjet chemistry & inkjet printing.
Lone Eagle uses Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, & GoLive which can be used for a range of design, retouching, & website development work. Lone Eagle drives their printers with Onyx ProductionHouse RIP software for making great-looking large-format inkjet prints and Gretag-Macbeth ProfileMaker software for making & applying custom camera, scanner, & printer ICC profiles.
